Marlowe's Burgers - Tunbridge Wells

“Burgers based out of The Bedford pub, I knew the burgers were good so came with friends that hadn't had it before. I ordered the Maj and skin on fries. The fries were really good and you get a really good portion for £3.95. The Maj is my favourite burger Marlowe's do and I get it most of the time I get a Marlowe's burger. I would definitely recommend this to anyone as it's packed full of flavour and the crispy onions are delicious.”

“Sent for lunch with some friends. Place was relatively empty on a Saturday at 1230h which suited us fine. The staff were very friendly and we loved the food, burgers and chips both. Nice to have specials to choose from too. Good beer on tap! Spied five or more child seats so appears to be kid friendly. Only negatives were that the music was too loud and the lighting too dark - could be that I'm just showing my age! Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be returning very soon.”

“I popped in to The Bedford pub to order a Marlowes burger and chicken slenders to take away.. ordered my food at the bar and had a drink while I waited.. quick and friendly service.. the burger was really tasty, and the chicken tenders were nice and juicy! I've been wanting to try one for a while and was not disappointed! I'd definitely go back.”

“The burger restaurant is part of a pub on the corner of the roundabout, you have to order on a tablet on the wall and the food is delivered by the bar staff. The burgers were amazing! I had the Double MAJ with Parmesan fries! The fries were well cooked and tasty however the cheese was almost definitely a mild cheddar, not Parmesan. The burger was super well made, the beef patties were the highlight - super juicy with a strong but not overpowering meaty flavour which was complemented well by the mustard mayo and sweetness of the caramelised onions! The texture was overall on the softer side but the crispy onions add to the overall texture. The pub it’s located in is pretty strange… in addition to the burger orders you can get ice cream from the other side of the room and still order your pints in the middle! Nothing bad to say, just very different. The tables were completely bare (not something I’ve seen for many years) but sauces can be brought over with your burger upon request. On that note, the sauces were good brands - Hellmans for mayo and Heinz for ketchup. Nothing too special but a nice touch as many places try to cut back costs through sauces. Overall I think the value for money is great, the decor was lacklustre but the food was great! Definitely recommend it and is worth a trip to try!”

“A group of 3 of us had lunch here earlier today and all left very happy. The Uber/Deliveroo reviews seem very at odds with the in house experience. The Bedford bartender was impeccable especially for our friend who had food allergies. The food was quick to come out but perfectly cooked. The Marlowe's sauce is one of the best house burger sauces around. I had the Kev and it was a beast also the halloumi fries are fire! I've wanted to check these guys out for a couple of years and they didn't disappoint!”
